Your Role
As R&D Scientist for Quantum Experiments, you will take AQLS's hardware out of the lab and into real-world environments — running quantum optics experiments that validate and push our technology roadmap forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and run quantum optics experiments in real-world (non-lab) environments.
- Support the R&D roadmap through hardware validation and characterization.
- Troubleshoot and optimize experimental setups in the field.
- Contribute findings to scientific publications and internal reporting.
Your Profile
Required
- MSc or PhD in Physics, Photonics, or Quantum Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in quantum optics with single photons.
- Experience with timing electronics (TDCs, FPGAs, synchronization).
- Strong system-engineering mindset — requirements, testing, debugging.
- Fluent English (required)
Nice to Have
- Experience with entanglement-based quantum communication.
- Exposure to field deployment or testbed environments outside the lab.
- Experience working in industry–academia collaborations.
- German language skills (a plus)
What We Offer
- Work at the forefront of real-world quantum networking and help shape Europe's quantum infrastructure.
